I dont have wifi or anything for comp, so i have to use the schools. considering that and i dont think i like blogging. Im done. if you want to know about anything just ask, this is just a pain.
What is your first impression of Japan? What did you see? How have you spending your time in Japan since you arrived? What surprised you the most? Are there things that negatively influenced you?
My first impression of Japan was amazement. I was so overwhelmed with how fast everyone was moving, and how efficient everything was. I have been studying hirigana and katakana as well as vocabulary for my japanese class. I was most suprised by how even american restraunts didnt have their normal food. Example: Dennys in America has pancakes and waffles, etc. in Japan, Dennys has beef curry, etc. I would not say anything is really negatively influencing me, at least not yet. I found an internet cafe about 15 bike ride away, that i might start going to, so i could update my blog more.
Interesting you have mentioned about "strange" menues in Japan by U.S. originated companies. Amazing how "globalization" and "location" influence changes for many corporations. Perhaps, Denny's is no longer Denny's as you perceive it in Japan?
If you cannot find access to internet and blog, make sure you have a journal entries with a simple notebook and pen. That would work the best. I only encourage you to do this because you forget a lot of things unless you write them down, and you have only one moment to capture your every Japanese "cultural experience." My own experience has been unfortunate. I may have traveled and lived so many different countries, I do not have any journal entries, and I only remember bits and pieces. I wish I did take notes...I would not like you to make the same mistake.
